Audio installation
73st is an audio piece that maps a street in a major city through a list of garbage, recorded when the artist went on a walk in his neighborhood. This piece challenges the audience’s awareness of the garbage on the ground, and also the implications of litter all over our communities and common spaces.
What is the impact of that accumulation of litter on the individual? What is the effect on the pedestrian or neighbor when we choose not to see or do anything about the litter? Does the litter that’s on our streets act as markers of our community and its potential?
Technical requirements:
Dark room, three lights and stands, four speakers and stands, two audio playing devices, and two auxiliary cables.
