During a hot summer afternoon I was walking around Bowness in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. I found myself in a local bakery packed full of wonderful treats and fresh breads. After speaking to the owners about the lack of art on their walls I offered to make them a painting to add some colour and personality to the bakery. They accepted and a week later I walked in to install the painting inspired by their old school store front, they absolutely loved it. This was my gift to them and in return anytime I came in and picked out my items they refused to take my money.

The experience was very special and we are very happy about it, I hope they enjoy the painting for years to come. Nothing creates a stronger relationship in a community than a mutuality beneficial arrangement between neighbours such as this. Looking back, it was so spontaneous and exciting, and I am grateful to the owners and staff of Sweet Home Bakery, located at 7930 Bowness Rd NW, Calgary, Alberta.
